April 11, 2009 Update-Grassroots Acoustica

This Saturday evening, Grassroots Acoustica generously held another Benefit Concert for SPLAT. For those of you who don’t know, Grassroots is a talented bunch of musicians who generously get together every month to perform benefits to collect money for local Los Angeles charities. SPLAT was lucky enough to be chosen in 2008, and again last night. Thanks to the following terrific performers, SPLAT received about $1,000 which will go to purchasing additional software, repairing the donated laptops and even sending printers home with the kids when they “graduate” from the transitional living centers. So thanks again to Mark Islam for doing this wonderful job, and to all of these great performers:

Ryan Guggenheim

Shira Kreitenberg

Jeff Kossack

Jane Bolduc

Jodi Siegel

Alfred Johnson

Tom

Byron

Kevin Fisher

Nicole Gordon

Marty Axelrod

Also, please look under “donors” for my thanks to all of you who contributed, and for all of you whose names I didn’t receive along with your generous cash donations, thank you very much as well!

SPLAT continues every week at LAFamily Housing with the help of my volunteer Bradley Reinfeld, and although SPLAT has completed its mission at Upward Bound House, I am researching for a new, second, location for SPLAT this summer, so stay tuned!

For quick reference, here are some links to SPLAT activities that you can see on YouTube (including the speech I gave last night at the Grassroots Acoustica benefit):
