AUGUST UPDATE-NEW SHELTER AND NEW SPLAT VOLUNTEER
I am happy to confirm that SPLAT has been welcomed at a new shelter. Starting in September i will be bringing SPLAT on a weekly basis to Upward Bound Family Shelter in Santa Monica California. I am very proud that Executive Director David Snow and Volunteer Coordinator Tracy Chin have trusted me to work with the children of Upward Bound. Just like I have been doing the past year at LAFH in North Hollywood, I will tutor the kids once a week and will provide laptops to them when they graduate.
I am also very happy to report that the weekly operations of SPLAT at LAFH will continue thanks to SPLAT’s terrific new volunteer BRADLEY REINFELD. I have trained Bradley for the past few months and the kids love him and he’s a perfect fit for SPLAT – dedicated and kind. I will continue to supply software and laptops to this shelter also, and Bradley and I will meet on a regular basis to talk things over and make sure SPLAT continues succesfully at both locations.
SPLAT also received another generous donation of 9 laptops from Patterson Company this week, and I want to thank them for their ongoing generous support of SPLAT. It has been a very exiting month and i look forward to my next update.
